Celebrating Holi with fellow Snapchatters gets a lot more fun.
The company has rolled out a number of Holi-themed AR lenses and stickers during the festive season. New themes include Gulaal Bitmoji, specially-curated Holi playlists, and various other colourful updates.
Besides the festive stickers and Bitmojis, Snapchat users can make their day special with the ‘Holi Beard’ lens. There are additional lenses to wish Holi to your loved ones in different languages.
Be festive ready with the Holi AR Lenses that are available on ‘Snap Camera’. Users can try out the special lenses with a Holi-themed song in their Spotlight videos.
In an attempt to localise the app experience for Indian users, Snapchatters have the flexibility to add filters to their pictures (geofilters) based on specific locations from across 500 different places and 32 different cities in India.
In a statement issued to the media, Snapchat Director of India and South Asia – Market Development Durgesh Kaushik said, “Snapchatters are constantly seeking unique and fun ways to celebrate occasions with their friends and family. Our AR tech capabilities have been our forte and we’ve successfully paired this with our localization efforts in India. It is no wonder then that last year, a huge number of Snapchatters were reached with our special Holi AR Lenses”.
These features will be extended to partner devices like Google Camera Go and Samsung Fun Mode.
The community lenses will be featured on Snapchat Maps in India. Snapchatters can activate these lenses, created by the Snapchat Lens Network community members, directly on Snap Maps.
In a statement issued earlier, Snapchat has said that it is advancing the Snap AR platform so that 250,000 lens creators can build the next generation of computing experiences to make shopping and exploring better.
On Wednesday, the company also introduced a number of outfit options for your Bitmoji, perfect for every mood. Users can choose from premium brands like Ralph Lauren, Jordans, Crocs, among others. A new collection from Converse has also been added to the list.
In a statement released on its blogpost, Snapchat revealed that they will go live with the ‘Outfit Sharing’ feature, which will let users share and receive Bitmoji outfit inspirations with their friends.
“Snapchatters can now show off their favourite Bitmoji looks – including new Converse styles, by sharing their outfit with friends directly from their Profile. In just a few taps, Snapchatters can use their outfit to strike up a conversation and start twinning with their BFF,” the statement read.
