Lower gross redemption by investors has catapulted the local funds’ buy-to-sell ratio in equity funds to 2.4 in February, the highest on record as per data available on sectoral equity funds with the AMFI. The long-term average is 1.38.

ET Intelligence Group: At a time when foreign funds are fleeing Indian shores, local savers in equity funds are cutting down on redemptions.

Gross redemption of local equity funds in February dropped to ₹14,072 crore, the lowest in 20 months, show data from the Association of Mutual Funds in India. In the past year, the average was about ₹20,811 crore a month.
