From its moving trailer to the banging background score, Nagraj Manjule’s Jhund is a complete package. We already saw filmmakers and actors talking positively about the film. Now with the film finally in theatres, the Amitabh Bachchan starrer is getting the same kind of response from the audience as well. People are loving the emotional ride that is Jhund and have given a thumbs up to Manjule’s hardwork.
The film is a biographical sports drama based on the life of social worker Vijay Barse, the founder of NGO Slum Soccer. He encouraged slum kids to form a football team. Bachchan essays the role of the coach, while Manjule got kids from slums to act in the film. The film gets as real as you can expect it to be, and by the end of it, you will realise why Aamir Khan cried after watching the film.

The best thing about #Jhund is the simple nuances that we miss in regular films and pay offs that we don’t get to see in high end commercial films get priority. Realistic nature of the writing and scenes make the film believable too. pic.twitter.com/Kb9VdYXMFN

Talking about working with Bachchan, Manjule told MW that he explored a different side of the actor. “I was under immense pressure as I had never worked with a superstar. But he made everything so easy. He is the humblest superstar I have come across. He never made us feel small. He used to sit with us in between the shots and never used to go to his vanity,” he quipped.
Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, the lyrics are by Amitabh Bhattacharya and music by Ajay-Atul. The film marks Manjule’s Bollywood directorial debut and he reunites with Sairat’s Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar in this film.
