Prashanth was a leading Tamil actor in Kollywood in the late 1990s and 2000s. He lost his market post the Vijay-Ajith era and was seen in character roles in certain south Indian films. Now, the ‘Top Star’ is thrilled about the release of his comeback film, ‘Andhagan’.
Earlier his father actor-director-producer Thiagarajan got the remake rights of the sleeper hit Bollywood film ‘Andhadhun’ in South Indian languages. Thiagarajan himself has taken charge of screenplay and direction in the Tamil remake, ‘Andhagan’ in which Prashanth reprises Ayushmann Khurrana’s role from the Original.
Simran and Priya Anand are cast in the roles of Tabu and Radhika Apte respectively while Navarasa Nayagan Karthik is on board in the special role of a fading movie star played by Anil Dhawan in the original. Yogi Babu, Vanitha Vijayakumar and K.S. Ravikumar are also in the cast. Santhosh Narayanan is composing songs and bg score for ‘Andhagan’.
Now, the makers have announced that the first song from the ‘Andhagan’ album, ‘En Kadhal’, will be launched on March 7th, Monday at 6 PM. The single is sung by south India’s leading vocalist Sid Sriram. The movie revolves around a blind pianist who unwittingly becomes embroiled in a murder. The release date of the black comedy venture will be announced soon.
