The Fame Game Draws Mixed Reactions But Madhuri Dixit Impresses

The Fame Game starring Madhuri Dixit came out on Netflix on February 25. The show introduces Dixit as superstar Anamika Anand, who eventually goes missing under baffling circumstances. Her disappearance triggers an investigation, which leads to the unravelling of some dark secrets of her family and her personal life. The show also stars Sanjay Kapoor, Manav Kaul, Suhasini Muley, Lakshvir Saran, Muskkaan Jaferi, and Rajshri Deshpande.

While the trailer made a loud noise, the show did not get a similar reaction from fans. Many did laud Dixit for her performance in the series and especially for her song, “Dupatta Mera,” but the show failed to make an impact. Many fans felt that the execution was quite poor. Some went on to correlate the story to Sridevi’s life, while others could not stop talking about the sets and the production value of the show.

Here’s What Twitter Has To Say About The Fame Game:

The Fame Game is a very very well made series. First of all – Madhuri. She’s a goddess. An absolutely brilliant actress. Very few would have been able to deliver a performance as strong as hers. Both the kids have done an amazing job as well. Second – the story itself. With..

One thing about The Fame Game is that it has such good production value and editing which were clearly lacking in Aarya(specifically in S2).

Watching @Netflix’s The Fame Game and I have a question. Do the Indian people curse a lot us such foul language or is it just the childish people writing the subtitles? It just seems so out of character for the plot.

Netflix 100% fucked up by switching the title of “Finding Anamika” to “The Fame Game” when SURELY the reason they needed a name change, “Inventing Anna”, would have actually been perfectly titled if they had called THAT “The Fame Game” instead 😒

Was so enthusiastic about Madhuri Dixit’s first streaming series “The Fame Game” on #Netflix, however after watching the first four episodes, I’m extremely dissatisfied with the story’s poor execution. hope it improves in the upcoming episodes.#MadhuriDixit #FameGame #Bollywood

During the virtual trailer launch of the show, Dixit said, “I loved the script, loved her journey. It is about fame, what follies and complications can happen when there is fame in your life. It is a story about this woman whose life is seemingly perfect, till she disappeared one day and everyone wonders what happened to her, where she is?

Then, the ‘Where is she?’ changes to ‘Who is she?’ Do people know who she is? Does she know herself? Because they all have seen her on the screen, larger than life, (leading a) perfect life with a husband (and) kids. She is perfectly placed in her profession. So what happened to her? I thought it was intriguing. That really fascinated me.”
