The group’s second full-length album is scheduled to release in the last week of March
With major groups scheduled to release new music in the coming weeks, March 2022 is undoubtedly an exciting month for K-pop fans. Throwing their hats into the ring of comebacks, SM Entertainment’s NCT DREAM unveils the title of their forthcoming album on March 28th, 2022. The news comes roughly a month after the group’s label confirmed their comeback.
Titled Glitch Mode, the septet’s second full-length album follows their double-million album Hot Sauce and its repackaged version, Hello Future. In a teaser GIF released online, the group applies various font styles and designs to the album title. While some draw inspiration from retro aesthetics, others embody the literal meaning of glitch, through the inclusion of static TV noise into the design.
Glitch Mode marks yet another crucial landmark in the NCT DREAM’s career, establishing itself as one of the group’s highly anticipated comebacks.
With their 2021 releases Hot Sauce and Hello Future, NCT DREAM marked a turning point in the group’s artistic odyssey. A day beforeHot Sauce was released, it was reported that the album sales exceeded more than 1.71 million copies, creating a new record as SM Entertainment’s highest pre-orders album of all time. Together with the sales of the album’s repackaged version, Hello Future, NCT Dream was officially crowned ‘triple million seller’ group, winning awards at Seoul Music Awards, Golden Disc Awards and Hanteo Music Awards. The group was also awarded the ‘Top 10’ Bonsang Award at the 2021 Melon Music Awards 2021 (MMA) and the Worldwide Fans Choice Top 10 at Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) 2021.
Composed of members Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Chenle, Jaemin and Jisung, NCT DREAM are the third sub-unit of SM Entertainment’s boy group NCT (Neo Culture Technology). Debuting on August 25th, 2016, the septet boasts a discography of five EPs, one studio album, a repackaged album, a live album and a single album.
