From Russia With Love: Ukrainian Women Bombarded With Tinder Likes From Invading Russian Soldiers

As Ukraine suffers a brutal military assault – complete with atrocious bombings of civilian apartment complexes – the invading Russian army seems to be looking for love as well as war.

In an absurd twist, reports came in from dozens of Ukrainian women regarding a massive influx of Russian soldiers on their Tinder apps. For instance, check out Alexander, 29 – posing in a beret with his sunglasses tucked into a striped vest:

The story came to light after Ukrainian video producer Dasha Synelnikova, 33, heard of the soldiers invading Tinder from a friend.

“I actually live in Kyiv but changed my location settings to Kharkiv after a friend told me there were Russian troops all over Tinder,” Synelnikova told The Sun. “And I couldn’t believe my eyes when they popped up trying to look tough and cool.

“One muscular guy posed up trying to look sexy in bed posing with his pistol.”

Before you ask – yes. Dasha did end up swiping on a certain 31-year-old soldier named Andrei, out of sheer curiosity:

Dasha: “Where are you? Are you in Kharkiv?

Andrei: “Of course I am not in Kharkiv but I am close — 80km.”

Dasha: “Do you have any plans to visit us?”

Andrei: “I would come with pleasure but Russian guys have not been welcome in Ukraine since 2014.

Dasha: “What do you do?”

Andrei: “I was born in Belgorod and was an engineer before 2014 and visited Kharkiv quite a lot and loved it there so much I wanted to buy a flat. I love travel to Asia, particularly Thailand. But now it’s a difficult time. I wanted to travel to Europe but getting a visa is difficult because no one likes Russia right now.”

Including Andrei, the number of Russian soldiers appearing on the app steadily climbed in the hours before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine began in the last 24 hours. Tinder’s maximum range is about 160 kilometers – a fact that makes sense considering that Ukrainian intelligence confirmed a large influx of soldiers along the outskirts of Kharkiv.

“These guys are just the same as anyone else on Tinder — they want love or companionship,“ shared Dasha,

“So it’s kind of hard to imagine that they could be coming here to attack us. I hope it won’t happen.”
