Pop sensation Madonna is one of the first celebrities who have openly slammed Russian President Vladimir Putin on Ukraine invasion.
Taking to Instagram, she shared a heavily edited 30-second clip, which is an interlude to her 2009 hit single Sorry and takes a dig on Putin. She is singing ‘Lies and I can’t take it’ as shots of Vladimir Putin and Hitler are displayed along with casualties in the war.

In the caption, she wrote, “Russia’s Pointless and Greed Driven Invasion Of the Ukraine MUST be stopped!!
Please Send in Humanitarian Aid to help millions of citizens of the Ukraine who’s lives are being affected by this CRISIS at this very moment !!
Putin has Violated Every Human Rights Accord in Existence. Putin has no right to try to erase the existence of the Ukraine. We support you President Zelensky!! We are praying for you and your country! 🙏🏼. God Bless You All!
Lets not feel helpless when confronted by Geo-political Actions of this magnitude.
There are things we can do.

While some people thanked her for support, there were others who trolled her. Here’s how fans reacted to her stand.
“Madonna needs to worry about planning her funeral,” wrote a fan.

I’m from Ukraine, and I’m grateful to Madonna that she shared our war even in this way🙏🏻🇺🇦

Madonna speaking out against the oppression of the LGBTQ in Russia in 2013. She was calling Putin out years before he interfered in America’s 2016 Election. Check out the full clip here. https://t.co/2AfshAivl3 pic.twitter.com/kc8rtJl2Z2

I always admired what Madonna has done in the past, the intention of this video is something similar but the promotion of herself ruined it :/

My girl just needs a social media manager. I think she always has good intent, she’s Madonna, she’s always spoken out against injustice. The posts are just poorly executed 😅

#madonna is an artist. The haters need to Quit silencing artists. They speak the truth.

It’s not Russia’s invasion, it’s Putin’s invasion. As a Russian I can assure that no Russian wanted this war with our brothers. Most of us have relatives there, we would never want to fight with them. Please, use “Putin” instead of “Russia”. Putin is not Russia
