Stock market today: Overall, Indian shares tracked overnight gains on Wall Street on Friday, climbing more than two per cent.

The share market on Friday rebounded after suffering the worst day of trading in more than 10 months as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine sent oil prices soaring and fanned inflation fears. The Sensex surged over 1,000 points and the Nifty rose to more than 16,500 in early morning trade on Friday.
The benchmark Sensex shrugged off jitteries and was trading 2.10 per cent or 1,144.26 points up at 55,674.17. The blue-chip NSE Nifty 50 index was 2.17 per cent or 351.80 points up at 16,599.75.

Both the indexes, however, were set to post their third straight weekly loss.
The Nifty public sector banking index .NIFTYPSU and the Nifty Realty index .NIFTYREAL were the top gainers, climbing more than 4 per cent each.
Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd APLH.NS rose more than 3 per cent in early trade after the National Stock Exchange said the company would be added to the Nifty 50 index from March 31, replacing Indian Oil Corporation Ltd IOC.NS.
Broader Asian markets also tracked overnight gains in U.S. stocks, in a market reversal after President Joe Biden unveiled harsh new sanctions against Russia.
