Microsoft is now rolling out a new Insider build of Windows 11 (22563), which includes several new features and changes, including to the taskbar and the widgets board.

The new build features a tablet-optimized taskbar, which takes up less space on the screen while showing only critical information.

The new collapsed taskbar can be activated by swiping down on the bottom edge of the display. This shrinks down the standard taskbar and a new thinner one appears, which only shows basic information, such as the time, Wi-Fi, and battery status. You can bring up the expanded taskbar by swiping up.

Microsoft has also changed how the widgets board appears. Previously, the widgets and news feed were visually separated but now they appear as a dynamic blended feed.

There are also 37 new emoji in this build as part of the Emoji 14.0 set, but we still don’t get the 3D emoji Microsoft had previously demonstrated.
